We all love to create and make art. Some of us draw and paint. Some of us like to build. Some of us write songs and make movies. When we aren't creating, we like to walk our dog, Luna, around the lake, kayak, ride bikes and travel.

We have experience with Montessori, public, virtual and now homeschooling. My husband, Chris, is a designer, artist, art director and I'm a life coach, yoga and meditation teacher. I love using creativity (in particular art journaling / watercolor) as a tool for discovery, mental and emotional health and as a way to connect deeply to your intuition / true self.

I like The Call of the Wild and Free and Brave Writer. Khan Academy and Mystery Science are some apps my kids enjoy. I think the best advice is to remember that there isn't a "right" way to HS and that it takes time and practice to find what works best for you and your family. I think homeschooling (like parenting) is a journey of discovery and learning to trust and surrender. Trust yourself and get help. Surround yourself with community and don't try to do it all on your own. I also think unlearning, deschooling and practicing a beginners' mind is helpful because in our culture it really takes a mindset shift to homeschool in a way that feels balanced, mindful and peaceful. Remember what YOUR intentions are for homeschooling in the first place - and honor that.
