MONDAY: March Community Day
Loose Park
Kansas City, MO 64112, USA
3/3/25, 6:30 PM
Discuss/Meet Other Parents, Talk about School Year, Get Help!
Homeschooling families are invited to visit with the AnySchoolers volunteers about anything homeschooling or anything AnySchoolers!
Who can come?
AnySchoolers KC is an open nonprofit community. There are no membership dues or volunteering requirements. This community relies on group/parent volunteer effort and donations. Come plan the next year together and meet new friends outside of traditional school! AnySchoolers is a secular and inclusive community.
What should you expect from Community Day?
Laid back play at the park with meaningful parent conversation sprinkled into the morning. We believe from experience that programmatic planning happens organically when parents find each other and can feel uninhibited (or empowered, un-intimidated) to use the nonprofit system to serve children and teens. We have set up a handful of boundaries and systems to help with collecting monies, properly insuring, and coordinating/communicating. These community days are great days to get a feel for how those systems work while also letting kids play together and have fun!Â
Is there a formal agenda?Â
Nope - generally, we just use these times to fan flames of enthusiasm, bounce around ideas, offer transparency and authenticity. We do have volunteer steering team meetings that have more structured agendas, and anyone who wants to be part of steering the organization and empowering others can attend.
Can I drop off?Â
No. Please do not drop off your child or teen at Loose Park. Families are expected to stay together. We will move around Loose Park with the seasons.Â
What should we bring?
Seasonally appropriate clothing and gear (swimsuits/towels for splashpad, hoodies for fall weather, water bottles in summer, etc). Bring coffee and breakfast, brunch, snacks, lunch - whatever helps the hangries! Bring your ideas and questions because we will be ready to talk!
