Low Sensory Morning at the Nelson-Atkins Museum

Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

4525 Oak St, Kansas City, MO 64111, USA

7/23/22, 2:00 PM

The Nelson-Atkins offers customized experiences to fit the needs, abilities, and interests of people with disabilities.

Learn about South and Southeast Asian artwork and the magical wish-granting cow, Kamadhenu at Low Sensory Morning.  We invite participants into the museum an hour before we open to the public in order to provide a quiet and low-stimulating environment where you can enjoy hands-on artmaking activities and art in the galleries. Visual resources, hand fidgets, a low sensory break room and other accommodations will be provided. This is an activity for all ages on the autism spectrum or people who have sensory sensitivities.

Gallery and artmaking activities and themes will change in July.

*Please use Bloch Lobby & Bloch Plaza Entrances

Parking in the museum garage is $12. Museum members park FREE.
